The Central Lonsdale Business Improvement Area will host an all-candidates meeting for the City of North Vancouver municipal election on Tuesday, October 13, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Church, according to a news release.
Candidates for mayor and council have been invited to take part, giving Central Lonsdale businesses, residents and the broader community a chance to hear directly from those seeking elected office, the release says.
“We’ve heard from businesses and members of the community that they would welcome an All Candidates Meeting here in Central Lonsdale,” said Shaun Mitha, president of the Central Lonsdale BIA board of directors. “We thought this was a great opportunity to bring people together for an open, non-partisan discussion and to hear directly from the candidates about their ideas, priorities, and vision for the future of North Vancouver.”
The meeting will be a moderated, non-partisan forum focused on issues affecting local businesses and the broader community, according to the release.
Central Lonsdale is home to a mix of small businesses, restaurants, professional services, property owners and residents. The BIA says it supports the neighbourhood’s economic vitality and vibrancy by supporting local businesses, advocating on their behalf, and creating experiences that bring people to the area.
