A driver caught travelling 172 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 1 westbound last week received two tickets and had their vehicle impounded for seven days.
Last week, our Traffic Unit stopped a driver travelling 172 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 1 westbound, 92 km/h over the limit. Their explanation? They were trying to pass traffic to make the Westview exit and the downhill slope apparently helped pick up their speed.
The driver received a $483 excessive speeding ticket, a $109 unsafe lane change ticket and a 7-day vehicle impound.
Missing an exit isn’t worth putting others at risk. Slow down and drive safely.
