The District of North Vancouver has launched a pilot program to install wireless clips on garbage and organics carts, aiming to improve worker safety and reduce repair wait times.
In a press release, the district said removing wires from cart locks and lids prevents them from getting caught in collection machinery, a hazard that has previously caused damage.
The metal clips remain the same, but they will no longer be attached with a wire. Residents will continue using the familiar clipping and unclipping process. The district reminded the homeowners not to modify carts or use alternative methods, as doing so could create safety risks and damage equipment.
The pilot program reflects the district’s commitment to enhancing worker safety and service efficiency while keeping the cart experience familiar for residents, the press release noted.
Sorry, but this is another joke as it won’t take long before the clip is lost or broken so how many will have to be replaced and how long will it take to get the replacements?
Will anyone have the common sense for drivers to have plenty of spares in their truck for when they come across missing or broken clips?
I guess everything is going digital these days so going wireless makes total sense.
