Lori Climenhaga, a 16-year resident of Deep Cove, is running for CentreBC in North Vancouver–Seymour in the Oct. 24 provincial election.

Climenhaga brings more than 25 years of experience in business, government and community organizations, according to a campaign news release. Her work has included senior roles with the BC Chamber of Commerce and the provincial public service. She joined the provincial government in 2020 as a director responsible for engagement with industry associations and Crown corporations, the release says.

She now advises organizations on workforce development, community engagement and strategic partnerships, and has served on the board of the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.

“People are concerned about the cost of living, the future we’re leaving our children and whether government is making good decisions with their money,” Climenhaga said in the release. “We need to get back to listening to people, working together and finding solutions that actually make a difference.”

CentreBC platform

Climenhaga says CentreBC should hold the next government accountable and act as a balance of power. The party describes itself as a centrist alternative focused on economic opportunity, social progress and environmental pragmatism.

Among the proposals highlighted in the party’s 2026 platform are creating an independent budget officer and legislating a balanced budget by 2034-35; expanding access to primary care; adding 500 RCMP officers over five years; and setting provincewide timelines for rezoning and building permits.

The platform also proposes a $15-billion transit plan, a refundable commuter credit, 25,000 new school seats by 2031, a cut to the lowest provincial income tax rate beginning Jan. 1, 2027, and an increase to the renter’s tax credit from $400 to $600 a year. These are party proposals and targets.

Climenhaga is one of four candidates listed by Elections BC for North Vancouver–Seymour. The other candidates are Lynne Block of the Conservative Party, Susie Chant of the BC NDP and Ben Holt of the BC Green Party.

More information about CentreBC’s platform is available on the party’s website.
