Vancouver Police are investigating an incident at a downtown fast-food restaurant after a video circulated on social media showing two men yelling at staff and customers while claiming to have guns and be part of a gang.
According to the news release by VPD, they received a report Friday night that the two men entered the restaurant near Nelson and Howe streets, yelled at staff, and damaged property inside the business. The men left before officers arrived.
“We understand there is significant public interest in this incident. It is disturbing and unacceptable, not just to police, but to the staff and patrons of the restaurant,” said Inspector Erin Roulston.
According to the news release, investigators are reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage, to determine what occurred and whether criminal charges are appropriate.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or can identify the individuals involved to contact the Vancouver Police Department at 604-717-3321.
